Driveway Cleaning & Sealing in Surrey
Bring a tired driveway back to life without replacing it, professional pressure washing, re-sanding and sealing.
What a Professional Clean and Seal Actually Does
Many block paving and stone driveways that look tired, stained and weedy can be transformed with a professional clean and seal. It costs a fraction of a new driveway and can add years to its life, often making it look better than it did when new.
The process involves: high-pressure washing to remove moss, algae, oil stains and dirt; weed and vegetation removal from joints; kiln-dried sand re-jointing to fill eroded joints and lock out weeds; and professional sealing with the right product for your surface.
Sealer Options
Wet look / gloss, deepens colour, gives a wet appearance. Popular on charcoal and brindle block paving. Matt / natural, protects without changing appearance. Good for sandstone and light-coloured surfaces. Colour-enhancing, brings out the natural tone of the aggregate or stone without a sheen.

The Cleaning & Sealing Process
Patrick assesses the driveway condition and recommends the right treatment and sealer for your surface.
Weeds are removed from joints and cracks manually or with a targeted weedkiller treatment.
High-pressure wash removes moss, algae, dirt and loose material from the entire surface.
Once dry, kiln-dried sand is applied and vibrated into joints, replacing eroded material.
The appropriate sealer is applied in one or two coats depending on the surface and product.
The surface is left to cure for 24 hours before vehicle use. Foot traffic after 2–4 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions
If the blocks or slabs are structurally sound and the sub-base is solid (no significant sinking or movement), cleaning and sealing is almost always worth it. If the driveway has large sunken sections, significant cracking, or the sub-base has failed, cleaning is a short-term fix. GK Landscapes gives an honest assessment at the site visit.
A quality block paving or stone sealer typically lasts 3–5 years before reapplication. You can tell it needs resealing when water no longer beads on the surface and the colour starts to look flat.
Most fresh oil stains respond well to pressure washing with a degreaser. Old, set-in stains are harder but can often be significantly reduced. Patrick will assess staining during the site visit and advise on likely results.
A standard driveway clean and seal takes a full day. Larger driveways may take two days. The surface needs 24 hours to cure before you drive on it.
Yes, the driveway needs to be clear and dry for the cleaning and sealing process. We usually need the space from early morning until the following morning for curing.
